Those who rate poor should not be painting…

This simple, simple to use device is a huge time saver for trim work and small flat to mildly curved items. It has saved me more time than I can honestly estimate without sounding like I’m making up numbers.

Those who are bashing it simply dont know how to use it properly or should stick to a slow going standard brush. Some should probably pay someone to paint for them based on what I read!!! YIKES!

I like this thing so much, I’m here today to order another one. I’ve worn out the pad and bristles I’ve used it so much!!! THE BEST $10 PAITING PRODUCT EVER!!!

    Works but not terribly useful

The item works as advertised and is simple to clean. It doesn’t drip much at all. I just found that with most of my trim not being flat surfaces it wasn’t terribly useful. I wound up using a brush and dealing with the drips.

    Significant Design Issues

Bought this from HD, thinking it would save me time. In the long run, the rework I had to perform negated any time savings I should have received.

The system works by loading paint into the device and delivering the paint to the wall through the trim pad, pressurized by a spring loaded piston that pushes the paint through the pad. The amount of paint delivered is regulated by the trigger mechanism.

Sorry to say, the spring is too strong for the device. When the trigger is pushed, even momentarily, too much paint is pushed out the pad, causing drips, run, and globs. Additionally, paint leaked out the back end of the device, making a larger mess.

Not a terrible thought as a time saver, but the design needs work. This product gets an A for Effort, but an F for Failure.

    Poor construction

It broke the second time I used it. The seal inside the unit gave out and allowed the paint to go past the plunger to the top of the handle and then spill out of the top.

This device can cause expensive hurt. Beware.

I used this product after checking out an instructional video. The result was disastrous. The business end of the trim painter spreads paint the world over; it glops on crudely from the middle of the pad and flows out the edges, undesirably covering the sides of adjacent trim. Meanwhile, paint pours out the tail end of the unit, covering the floor beneath with a lot of paint. I was lucky enough to be working above a quality painter’s cloth. The way this unit malfunctions could spread paint exactly where it’s not meant to be, causing hard to repair or expensive hurt. Overall, I strongly suggest you buy a excellent brush and not waste your time with this product.

I can do better with a brush and my eyes closed

Poor coverage, drips, runs, leaks, and parts dont fit together. The first on I got the O ring was mangled and had to be returned. I finished up sanding the drips, and redoing the entire area with tape and a brush (my free hand is poor). YMMV.

    Works Fantastic!

I’ve been doing lots of interior room painting on our house and have been spending large amounts of time “cutting in” the edges of wall surfaces with a brush. I saw this Trim-it and chose to give it a try and I have to say it works fantastic as advertized. It place the paint on very quickly, precisely and cleanly. It did not drip once. Simple clean up when I was done. I did burn through one head in using it. I was going over some honestly rough texture on part of the job and it kind of wore a corner area of bristle away. I’ve just ordered some substitution heads for it. I look forward to doing the rest of my cutting in work with this fne tool.
